Alphonso Ian Thigpen

Alphonso Ian Thigpen, 49, departed this life on January 6, 2018.  He was born July 8, 1968 to Annie Thigpen and the late Willie Thigpen in Norfolk, VA.  He was also predeceased by a brother, Willie Thigpen, Jr.

"Zo", as he was known graduated from Floyd E. Kellam High School where he was on the football team. He also played community football whenever he got the chance. He had a passion for his family and friends.  He was employed with Jim Allen Company.

Alphonso leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Alyssa Thigpen and Chantrell Dozier both of Virginia Beach; two sons, Alphonzo Gray and Demetrus Lawrence both of Virginia Beach; his mother, Annie Thigpen of Greenville, NC; two sisters, Carolyn Cross (Jerry) of Chesapeake and Cristein Thigpen of Norfolk; three brothers, Ronald Thigpen (Christina), Joseph Thigpen and Michael Johnson (Chris) all of Virginia Beach; one aunt, Brenda Griggs (Johnny) of Norwalk, CT; three uncles, Burtrice Palmer (Elaine), Clifton Palmer (Jo-Ann) and Jesse Palmer all of Greenville, NC; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
