Evelyn Elizabeth Coles Zimmerman

Evelyn “Booley” Coles Zimmerman, 86, answered her Masters’ call to eternal peace on February 14th, 2019.

She was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 28th, 1932 to the late Evelyn H. Williams and Lloyd Coles. She was also the granddaughter of the late Reverend I.H. Hines who was the third pastor of the Westwood Baptist Church.

Evelyn gave her life to Christ at an early age at the 31st Street Baptist Church. She graduated from Armstrong High School after which she married the late Jesse Zimmerman and with that union, they had one daughter, Rosalind Z. Smith.

Evelyn had several jobs throughout her years, but she stayed at My Maternity Shop until they went out of business. She then worked as a presser for a local cleaner until she retired. Evelyn loved her family and spent many hours as the caregiver to her grandchildren.

Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Rosalind Z. Smith; one brother, Lloyd Coles Jr (Deloris); one granddaughter; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
