Howard Andrew Goffigan, Jr., 60, of Virginia Beach, Virginia departed this life unexpectedly on January 17, 2018. He was the oldest of four children born to the LaRose L. Goffigan and the late Howard A. Goffigan, Sr. on April 2, 1957.
He was educated in the Virginia Beach Public School system. Howard worked at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital for many years. While there, he made many friends and was well liked by doctors, nurses, and other support staff. After leaving the hospital, he worked various jobs before settling with Excel Paving Corporation, where he was employed at the time of his passing. Howard was very dependable, and he was a hard worker.
Like his father, Howard loved fishing. Whenever he had the time, he would spend hours at the Lynnhaven Fishing Pier. He was also an avid reader of all types of genre. He and his sister Joan would often trade books since she was an avid reader too and they shared the same interests. Howard loved his daughters and was extremely proud of them. But most of all, Howard loved to spend time with his family, especially his mother, LaRose. He would try to visit her every day even when you could tell he was extremely tired.
Howard was predeceased by his daughter, Demetria Goffigan. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, LaRose Goffigan; four daughters, Kesha Goffigan, Adrianne Laconia (Nico), Kelly Goffigan (fiancé, William Hagler) and Brandy C. Goffigan (Daniel Jacobson); four grandchildren, Keyshellya Goffigan, Shawntel Brumley, Gabriel Hagler and Isabella Laconia; two great-grandchildren, Kyrie Taylor and Kameron Taylor; two sisters, Wanda Pona and Joan Stephens (Arnold); one brother, Robin Goffigan; several nieces and nephews, six aunts; three uncles; his companion of 24 years, Brenda Williams and her children, Maryann Hall, Dennis Williams and Leon Williams; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
