Lilton Whitehurst Sr.

Lilton Whitehurst, Sr., 67, entered into eternal rest on September 5, 2019.

He was born on March 1, 1952 and was raised in the Owls Creek section of Seatack, Virginia Beach, VA to the late David and Florence Whitehurst. Lilton was educated in the Virginia Beach Public School system and graduated from First Colonial High School. As a young man, Lilton frequently attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA. Later in life, his parents became the Pastor and First Lady of Roduco Baptist Church in North Carolina and Lilton would often attend. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1972. Lilton loved crabbing, wrestling, working on mopeds and bikes, but most of all, he loved his family.

Besides his parents, Lilton was predeceased by his wife, Helena Ako Whitehurst and his sister, Atvanna Whitehurst Mitchell.

Lilton leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Donna Mitchell (Vann Heckstall), Leimomie Knox (Frank Dial), Lilton Whitehurst Jr.; five siblings, David Whitehurst Jr. (Susie), George Whitehurst (Marie), Leon Whitehurst, Richard Whitehurst, Paulette Foreman; best friend, Mike Young and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
