Lynn Robbin Congdon

From Dana:  Lynn passed away Mon. June 11, 2018 at home. She wasn’t feeling well. At 6:30 am she asked me to care for the boys so she could rest. At 9:30 I spoke with her, she said she wanted to sleep a while longer.  At 1:30 Leigh found her unresponsive. I tried CPR but knew in my heart it was too late.  We are awaiting autopsy results.

Lynn was born Feb 15, 1982 to Dana Farrar Congdon and William Orson Congdon in VB Gen Hosp. Dr. Tim Devlin was present at her birth and Dr. Gerdi Kelsey took care of her until age 18. Lynn graduated from Cox High School in 2000. She was 16 when she began work at First Colonial, where she worked for the next 14 years. She was grateful to Dr. Tom Jones for training her one-on-one in medical assisting.

The biggest joy in Lynn’s life were her 2 boys: William (2.5 years) and Noah (6 mos). Her beloved mate and father of the boys is Ross Hensley.  I extend sympathy to his Mom, Kandi, and his sisters Sara and Renee.

Also surviving are heartbroken siblings Michael Congdon, Mark Congdon and Leigh Congdon (Barry Ramsay and his daughter Kylie);  Aunt, Robbin Crace (Jimmy and Cody), Aunts, Rosalie (Lance), Susan, Valerie (Joe) and Uncle Duane (Marie). To all of Lynn’s cousins on the Congdon side, she loved you and cherished the family ties.  Surviving also is “Gran” Bonnie Farrar.  Lynn was predeceased by her father Bill; brother Brian and her grandparents, Peggy “Yanny” and Robert Farrar; and Basil and Dora Congdon.

Lynn was dedicated, saved and baptized at London Bridge Baptist Church in the presence of our Lord and “her” pastor, The Rev. Tommy Taylor. She was a proud-to-be Christian, a beautiful person both inside and out. I’d ask you all to spend a few minutes reflecting on your personal relationship with Lynn. Pray for us all, as it is only through the grace of God and your love that we can move forward.

Special thanks to Karen Hansel. She has helped me with everything during this terrible time and has loved me unconditionally for a very long time. Thanks to Dr. Jeff Charlton, my friend who is ALWAYS available to support me and my family. Let’s all appreciate the VBPD. Special thanks to Det. Marsolais and the other officers who stayed by my side during the horrible first hours of this nightmare. Thank you all for the tremendous outpouring of love. 

PLEASE join us on Sat. June 23 at 11AM, Calvary Baptist Church, 4832 Haygood Rd., VB. with viewing at 10AM. Burial directly after at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery.  Everyone is invited by me personally. I’d love to see you.
