Roy Prentiss Hilliard

Roy Prentiss Hilliard, 66, passed away June 18, 2018.  He was born in Nansemond County, Virginia to Mr. William Paul Hilliard and Mrs. Hazel Hilliard Owens on April 27, 1952.

Roy attended the Virginia Beach Public schools and later attended the job corps.  As Roy began his adulthood journey, Chatman Brother of Virginia Beach employed Roy in the construction and painting industry. 

In Roy spare time, he enjoyed playing pool, dominoes, sewing and drawing.  His favorite song that he enjoyed listening to was “He Was There Just In Time To Rescue Me”, by the Bishop F.C. Barnes.

He, was a loving and kind gentleman who will be missed by many.  Roy was predeceased by his father, William P. Hilliard, mother Hazel H. Owens and brother Paul L. Hilliard.

He is survived by his stepfather, David Owens; two brothers Deacon Raymond Stith (Erveena) and Grover L. Hilliard; three sisters Hazel M. Yelton (Danny), Gloria Howard (Roger), Clara H. Saunders and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
