Allean Foggie

Allean Foggie was born December 21, 1934, to Lula Mae Higgins and Henry Foggie and later was blessed with a step-father, Albert Bernard Higgins, all of which have passed on to glory. She was the mother of Pastor Cathy Fielding (deceased) and Reverend Carrie Anderson, in addition to Johnnie Anderson's widow.

Allean Foggie graduated from New Bethel High School in 1954 and continued her education at Denmark Technical College in Denmark, North Carolina. After Allean completed her education, she moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. Later, marrying Johnny Anderson and having two children from this union, Vanessa and Cathy.

Later, she relocated to Woodruff, South Carolina, where she trained and received her license in barbering and cosmetology. Obtaining her license motivated her to start her own business with the help of A.B. Higgins; thus, " Leana's Barber Shop" was established. In addition to the barber shop, Allean owned a cab company.

During her life's journey, she was celebrated by Ed Waddel, a radio personality on WASC AM 1130. She was honored by the radio station during "Black History Month" as the first female black-owned woman business in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her daughter, Reverend Carrie Anderson. Her sisters, Edith Higgins, and Vivian Foggie. Her brothers, Robert Foggie, Leroy Foggie, and Albert Bernard Higgins. Nephew, Ronald Foggie. Six grandchildren, 15 great-grands, and a host of nephews and nieces.

Those who have passed on to glory. Sisters Barbara Ann Casey, Francis Foggie-Watson, Henry Foggie Jr.(Tag), Willie C. Foggie, George E. Foggie, L. T. Foggie, Bobby Foggie Sr., and Moody Foggie.
