Mrs. Bernice Elizabeth Timberlake Kendall 90, of Virginia Beach, Virginia transitioned from this life on Friday, January 8, 2021. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Dory Timberlake and Ruth Moore on September 18, 1930. After graduation from High School she married Joseph T. Kendall and started a family. She and her husband were married for over 66 years before his passing in 2013. Bernice loved her family and took pride in being a loving Housewife.
Bernice had a faithful relationship with her God and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church located in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to Virginia Beach. She visited Calvary Revival Church in Norfolk, from time to time. Her hobbies included cooking delicious recipes and she wrote a recipe book for her children, which included all her favorite dishes that she prepared for her family. Bernice enjoyed listening to jazz, knitting hats and scarfs for her grandchildren, crocheting, and spending quality time with her family, and going on family outgoings was a major part of the Kendall family life.
Bernice was predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Joseph T. Kendall; her parents, Ruth and Dory Timberlake; siblings, Clarence Timberlake, Catherine Timberlake, Evelyn Timberlake, Ruth Timberlake and Dory Timberlake; daughter in law, Patricia Dixon Kendall (1st wife of Donald W. Kendall, Sr.) & mother of 1st grandchildren, Lauren Shayna Kendall & Donald Kendall Jr.; daughter in law, Merly Moore (wife of Theodore Kendall); brother in law, Nathaniel Howell (husband of Dorothy Timberlake Howell)
Bernice leaves to continue her legacy of five children, Brenda Kendall, Jose Joseph Kendall, Marianne Skaatan (the mother of his children), Donald Kendall (his wife Evita Jordan Kendall), Theodore Kendall, Dorine Kendall; spouse, Michelle McCoy; grandchildren, Lauren Kendall, Donald Kendall Jr. Daniel Kendall Skaatan, Christian Kendall, Nicolay Matthew Skaatan, David Alexander Kendall Skaatan, Roy McCoy, Clifton McCoy; great-grandchildren, Madison Irvin, Noah Kendall Davis, Josiah "JoJo" Davis, Kenadi Kendall Killingworth, Jeremy Kendall; sister, Dorothy Timberlake Howell; cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends at Silverhill/Muse where she lived for over 15 years
