Betty E. Doble

Betty Elizabeth Doble-Whitehurst, entered into eternal rest on July 30, 2020. She was born on August 18, 1964 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Miguel Doble and Betty Torres.

Betty graduated from Bay Ridge High School, Brooklyn, NY and enlisted in the US Navy as an Aviation Technician. She served 20 years and throughout her career she held the positions of a Support Equipment Maintenance Manager, Support Equipment Cryogenic Mechanic, Hazardous Material Control Management Technician, and US Navy Recruiter. While Betty was enlisted in the Navy, she met her husband, the love of her life.

Betty was a good-hearted person who was the life of the party. She had a good sense of humor, enjoyed life and was very helpful to her family and friends. Even in her last moments, Betty’s positivity and uplifting spirit could not be matched. She was the sparkle that others needed when they were down. Betty had a passion for enlightening others, traveling, cars and guns, but most of all she loved her family.

Betty leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 31 years, Michael Levi Whitehurst of VA; daughter, Betty Whitehurst (Kevin) of VA; mother, Betty Torres of NY; brother, Michael Doble of NY; brother-in-law, Stanley Whitehurst (Sherri) of VA; sister-in-laws, Debbie Whitehurst, Regina Whitehurst, Paulette Chesson all of VA; aunts, Devina Torres, Nefer Newman, Loida Torres all of NY; special friends, Anita Binns, Ralph and Cindy Flores all of VA; godchildren, Lily Ralph Jr. and Anthony Flores both of VA;   and a host of other relatives and friends.
