Deacon James Rogers

Deacon James Rogers, 68,  transitioned from this life on 2/7/2021. He was born 3/20/1952 to the late Ellis and Sally Rogers in New York. James was a faithful member of New Jerusalem COGIC. He retired from Sentara Va Beach General Hospital and Va Beach Public Schools. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Florida Rogers; sons, Curtis Rogers, Lamont Creamer, Timothy Cooper; and sister, Evelyn Rodgers. A Graveside service will be held 12noon, Fri., 2/12/21 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, VA; viewing, 6-8pm, Thurs., at Beach Funeral Services. www.beachfuneralservices.com

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd,

I shall not be in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me beside quiet waters,

He restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness

for his name's sake.

Even though I walk

through the valley of the shadow of death,

for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;
