Obituary

Doris E. Perkins, 91, went home to glory to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 16, 2021.

Doris was born on December 7, 1929 in Princess Anne County, VA to the late Clarence and Lilly Gatlin. On April 1, 1947, She met and married Willie Perkins and from their union seven children were born. As a young woman, Doris joined the Greater Saint Andrews AME Church and has been a faithful member ever since. She was the President of the Senior Choir, member of the Pastor Aide and the last of the Golden Girls.  Doris worked in sales for many years at Alschauels Clothing and Gayle's Wigs N' Things. She was a great cook and loved making sweet potato biscuits and cornbread.

Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by the love of her life, Willie Perkins; one son, Howard Perkins; one great grandson; two sisters, Cat and Bit.

Doris leaves to cherish her fond memories, her children, Betty Williams (Leander); Jackie Ware, Willie Perkins (Valerie), Doris Perkins, Rose Ellison, Connie Rogers; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
