James Edward Ferebee

James Edward Ferebee, 64, transitioned from this life on August 2, 2022 at Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, VA. God dispatched an angel to his bedside, as we watched our loved one slip peacefully away to his eternal rest.

James was born on August 3, 1957, to the late Roy G. Jones and Sarah Ferebee Jones in Virginia Beach, Virginia and predeceased by his sister, Dianne Deloris Ferebee. As a child, he enjoyed playing various sports, but always had a love for the game of football where he played both offense and defense at Kellam High School. He played college football at Virginia Union University. He played the game with such passion! He had a deep-down love for football and it showed on and off the field.

James is survived by two brothers and six sisters: Gloria Singleton, Dorothy Blount, Juanita Owens (Robert), Sarah Ferebee, Phyllis Winslow (Charles), Roy Ferebee (Judith), Joyce Lang (Barry), Arlene Ferebee, and Ronnie Ferebee (Diana), step-daughter, Shanita Walker; three step-grandchildren, Corita Lambert, Corisha Lambert, and Semaiah Sabir, thirteen nieces, nine nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
