Johnnie Phillips, Jr.

Johnnie Phillips Jr., 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 20, 2023 in Norfolk, Virginia.

 Johnnie was born in Hertford, North Carolina on July 18, 1943 to Johnnie and Ella Phillips. Mr. Phillips worked several decades for McCoy Oil Company. He also owned and operated his Phillips Lawn services. Mr. Phillips later was a dedicated driver for James River Petroleum and Wilmik, Inc. Johnnie love playing the guitar and fast cars.

 Besides his parents, Mr. Phillips was predeceased by his daughter, Lolita Tenet Phillips of Norfolk, VA; one granddaughter, Brittany Phillips; siblings, Elbert Phillips of Virginia Beach, Jay Phillips of Norfolk, Janie Phillips of Norfolk, Viola Taylor of New Jersey and Edith Settlers of Colorado Springs.

 Mr. Phillips is survived by his sons, Johnnie Eric Phillips (Lillie), William David Phillips (Jackie); grandsons, Brandon Phillips and Dezmon J. Nieto; great grandson, Kinston Phillips, Damien & Daniel Nieto; siblings, Emma Vaughn of Chesapeake, Joseph Phillips of Norfolk; sister-in-laws, Linda Bates, Hazel Flowers, and a host of many nieces and nephews.
