Leonard Devorn Mitchell, Sr., 52, went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2020. He was born on November 12, 1967 in Virginia Beach, VA to Mittie Mitchell Waller and Charles Parker.
Nard was educated in the Va. Beach Public School system and graduated from Bayside High School in 1986. As a young man, he played football in the Va. Beach Recreation League for the AP Dolphins. Nard was a hard-working man who owned and operated his own concrete business for over 30 years, Mitchell’s Concrete. He often shared information about entrepreneurship to other young black men in the community.
Nard was good guy who loved being around people and making them laugh. There is nothing that he wouldn’t do for anyone in need. He loved music and you could always find him belting out tunes. Leonard was a sportsman who loved the Miami Dolphins football team, baseball, and track & field.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Atvanna Whitehurst Mitchell; grandparents, Henry B. Mitchell and Charlie & Martha Parker.
Leonard truly loved his family and he leaves to cherish his fond memories, his wife, Lisa Mitchell; children, Jasming Cleffman, Leonard Devorn Mitchell Jr., Kiera Mckay, Michelle Mckay, Kayla Mckay; 10 grandchildren; parents, Mittie Mitchell Waller (Haywood), Charles L. Parker; grandmother, Gertrude Mitchell and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and special friends.
