Lillian C. Trotman, 101, in her own words, “Went home to be with her Father, God” on July 28, 2021.
Lillian was a devoted wife and full-time mother to her beloved family. She brings an end to a powerful era for being the last surviving member (Class of 1938) of the first African American High School in Va. Beach known as Princess Anne County Training School. She served in her church, New Hope Baptist, Va. Beach for many years as a sunday school teacher. Known for her self-taught skills in the kitchen and home, she loved to cook, sew and build furniture for her home over the years.
She was predeceased by her husband for over 80 years, John J. Trotman; two sons, Johnnie Trotman, Michael Trotman; parents, Albert & Ella Charles; sister, Mildred C. Williams; brothers, Albert Charles Jr., Lyman Smith.
Lillian is survived by 6 children, Charles, Stephen, Roderick, Tony & Terry Trotman,Jacqueline Dorsey (Steve); 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
