Margie Ann Eldridge, 60, entered into eternal rest on May 30, 2020.
Margie was born on August 22, 1959 to the late Annie Moody and James Speight. She was born and raised in Halifax, NC, and was educated in their public school system. As a young woman, Margie moved to Virginia Beach, VA to further her career. Not to long after she moved, Margie caught the eye of US Navy Seaman, Harold S. Eldridge on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1986. They later married and he became the love of her life. Together their family traveled throughout the country supporting her husband’s military career.
Margie was a sharp dresser who loved fashion and she dressed the part on many occasions. She truly loved her family. She was a great homemaker who loved reading and listening to her gospel music.
Margie was predeceased by her parents, Annie Maude Moody and James Speight, Sr.; one sister, Melissa Moody; four brothers, Leroy Moody Jr., Arthur Moody, Oneil Speight, Melvin Speight.
She leaves to cherish her memories, loving husband of 34 years, Harold “Hunni” Eldridge; two astonishing kids, Shon Draughn, Tanisha Draughn; two outstanding and courageous grandchildren, Quishun Jenkins; her very own treasure, Treasure Perkins; her beautiful seven sisters, Lavoris Bell, Valerie Miller (Tommie), Clara Moody, Sandra Hill (Dwayne), Doretha Satterfield, Lisa Speight, Deloris Speight; seven handsome brothers, Tommie Moody, Roy Moody (Margaret); Tryone Moody, Harvey Moody (Andrea), Jimmy Speight, Dale Speight, Chris Speight; step mother, Elaine Speight; one special dear aunt who stayed very near and dear to her heart, Aunt Mary Lee; a host of lovable nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
