Mary J. Gay

Mary Jane Gay, 71, entered into eternal rest and joined God’s Heavenly kingdom on January 13, 2022.

Mary was born on August 6, 1950 in Bethel, North Carolina to the late Romuel and Nina Gay. When she was young, her family relocated to the Seatack area of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mary attended Seatack Elementary School and Union Kempsville High School. While in school, she was very athletic and stayed active in sports. One of her families’ fondest memories was her kicking everyone out of the room so she could watch her wrestling and soap operas. Mary had a loving spirit and her kind smile will always be remembered.

Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Shirley Gay, Annie Owens, Barbara Wilkins, Molly Gay; brothers, Robert Gay and Romuel Gay, Jr.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Juliet Gay, Charles Gay, Clifton Gay; grandchildren, Antwain Gay, Alethea Gay; great grandson, Carter Kesey Braylen; siblings, Deloris Brown, Lena Palmer; and a host of other relatives and friends.
