Mrs. Helena J. Williams

Mother Helena J. Williams, 88, was born May 26, 1932 in the city of Norfolk, Virginia to the late Robert Johnson and Ethel Kellam. She departed this life to be present with the Lord on May 28, 2020.

Mother Williams was the devoted wife of the late Isiah V. Williams for thirty-eight years. She was a longtime member of C. H. Mason Memorial Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop D. Lawrence Williams and the late Bishop David B. Williams. She was an active member in many ministries of the church.

She attended Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk. Later in life Helena was hired by Norfolk Public School System and continued her employment until her retirement in 1994 from Northside Middle School.

Mother was a true Praise and Worshipper and didn’t mind letting you know. She loved her entire family and was truly proud of her four children. She instilled in them the love of God and the importance of Salvation. She had a special place in her heart for them, and would often tell them “I love ALL of you, you are my BABIES, God gave you to me, HE let me raise you, and He saved you. He permitted me to see my grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of you are blessed. I just love Him and I love JESUS, HALLELUJAH.”

She is survived by her children, Elder Valarie Carney (Clifton Sr.), Frederick Williams (Margaret), Pamela McCoy (Mervin), and Brian Williams (Cathy) ; grandchildren, Clifton Carney Jr. (Jamie), Ricky Perry Jr. (Yamilka), Frederick Williams Jr. (Christina), Kelli Carney; granddaughter in love, Alicia White (Steven) ; great grandchildren, Davion, Justin, Brian, Nicholas, Jaelin, Isaiah, Ariana, Addyson, Helena; great granddaughter in love, Alexis; and a host of other relatives and friends who knew her and loved her dearly.
