Willie Lee Griffin Jr.

Willie Lee “Sam” Griffin, Jr., passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the age of 73, in his hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia. His battle with cancer showed his strength and courage as he faced tough battles with a smile on his face until the end. Sam was born to Willie and Mable Griffin on August 10, 1949. He attended Union Kempsville High School and shortly after started driving trucks for over 30 years. Sam loved spending time with his family, cooking, dancing and partying and watching Drag racing. He also loved attending sporting events and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Sam was predeceased by his first wife, Christine E. Griffin; parents, Willie Sr. and Mable Griffin; father, Willie L. Hodges and sister, Maxine Beary.

Sam leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving wife, Isolean Griffin; children, Angie Neal, Ryan Griffin (Kristie), Scott Griffin; ten grandchildren, Michael, Chase, Jourdan, Devon and Tia Griffin, Eshara Sanders, Ashley, Levon, Leo and Lamar Neal; nine great grandchildren; brother, Ira Lee Hodges (Patrice); aunt, Rosa Lee Wilson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
